About the Event
Anyone who has attended either a previous Pain Matters OR has been through one of my introductory lectures (either at my prior Memorial practice or at CIM) is eligible to attend this workshop. If you have not, but are still interested, there are prerequisites which can easily be met - please email me through the contact page of this website.
When professionals and the public alike do not understand pain and fail to accurately distinguish its causes or perpetuators, all pain is then viewed as a passive process, chronic pain is considered static and meaningless, and its treatments become necessarily incomplete, misguided, or ineffective. Understanding why we hurt, based in neuroscience education and personal insight, reduces fear, allows for more precise treatment, facilitates growth, and empowers us to change our entire experience, including that of pain. This intensive, 2-day workshop (Saturday, Feb 2nd & Saturday, March 2nd) will encompass all aspects of the pain experience and help restore us to healing and freedom.
Session one explores what the latest neuroscience has uncovered about how your pain starts and why pain persists. Empower yourself with knowledge!
Session two will dive into new ways you can understand and manage your pain without drugs. Gain new tools and techniques so that pain doesn't close you off from living.
